Ayurveda Pitta Diet - Balance Your Energy

People belonging to Pitta Diet

In Ayurveda, Pitta constitutes of two elements- fire and water. Pitta dosha in body is responsible for governing the transformation in physiology. This includes digestive system, metabolism rate, and emotional as well as sensory perceptions. People with Pitta dosha are liable to follow a strict food plan and maintain their mind-body constitutions.

The Diet Plan

For restoring the balance, it is necessary to follow a food plan that would help in managing the metabolism, digestion, different biological transformations and body temperature. The favorable diet for people belonging to Pitta includes:

• Instead of consuming steaming hot food, such people should prefer cool or warm food items.

• People with Pitta should intake food having heavy textures. Like consume less butter and added fat.

• Keep a check on the amount of salt, sour, and spice food consumed. Regular consumption of spicy, salty and sour food should be reduced or avoided (especially in summers).

• Alcoholic and fermented food items like pickles, yogurt, sour cream, cheese, vinegar, lemon juice, etc. must be kept out of the daily diet.

• The breakfast should mainly comprise of cold cereals, apple tea, and cinnamon toast, etc.

• Prefer to eat vegetables, grains and abundant amount of milk during the day.

• Avoid hot, oily, and salty food and consume only starchy food like vegetables and grains.

• Avoid eating egg yolks, nuts, hot spices, honey, and hot drinks.

In order to fully maintain the Pitta dosha, it is advisable to follow the above mentioned guidelines in the daily diet routine.
