A Pitta Diet To Balance Your Dosha
A Pitta diet will consist of foods that have the astringent, bitter, and sweet tastes. Avoid the tastes that increase the pita Dosha such as salty, pungent, and sour.
The Pitta diet should favor foods that are cool or warm with moderately heavy textures. Also favored for the Pitta are Western, mild Indian and mild Chinese. Avoid pickles, yogurt, sour cream, and cheese. Avoid vinegar in salad dressing; use lemon juice instead. Alcohol should should not be consumed.
For breakfast favor cold cereals, cinnamon toast and apple tea. Avoid coffee, orange juice and doughnuts - they aggravate pitta.
